Date or no date

The no-date Submariner has a cleaner dial and no cyclops, which removes the most commonly botched detail on a replica. If you want the closest-to-flawless option, the no-date is the safer buy. If you want the more recognisable watch, take the date and check the cyclops magnification carefully — it should be 2.5×, not the 1.5× that budget copies use.
