Big Bang: the screws and the strap

Six H-shaped screws sit in the bezel and every one of them must be clocked to the same angle — on a genuine Big Bang they are aligned, and on most clones at least two are rotated. It takes three seconds to check and it is the single most reliable tell.

The second is the strap. Hublot uses vulcanised natural rubber that has a slightly matte, dry feel. Silicone substitutes shine, smell faintly, and crease rather than flex.

Case construction

The Big Bang case is a sandwich: bezel, gasket layer, case body, caseback, all visibly stacked. Each layer should have its own distinct finish. Our Big Bang super clones run 42–45 mm in ceramic, titanium, carbon and steel with working chronograph movements.
