The Sprite is the Rolex GMT-Master II reference 126720VTNR, introduced at Watches and Wonders in March 2022 and still in the current catalogue. It pairs a green-and-black Cerachrom bezel with a 40mm Oystersteel case, and it is the only left-handed watch Rolex has ever put into series production: the winding crown sits on the left side of the case and the date window moves to 9 o’clock.
Why is it called the Sprite?
Collectors have named two-colour GMT bezels after soft drinks since the blue-and-red “Pepsi” of the 1950s, so a green-and-black bezel was always going to end up as the Sprite, after the green livery of the lemon-lime drink. The name circulated within days of the 2022 launch. Rolex’s own reference code tells the same story in French shorthand: VTNR stands for vert-noir, green-black, just as BLRO denotes bleu-rouge on the Pepsi.
The colour is only half the watch, though. The 126720VTNR is also known as the “Destro” or simply the “Lefty”, because the crown-at-nine construction is intended to be worn on the right wrist. Sixty-seven years after the original GMT-Master of 1955, the Sprite became the first left-hand-drive Rolex ever offered in regular production. Inside is the calibre 3285 with an independently settable local-hour hand and a 70-hour power reserve, and buyers of the genuine watch choose between an Oyster and a Jubilee bracelet.

There is no earlier Sprite: no previous GMT-Master or GMT-Master II wore a green-and-black bezel, which makes the 126720VTNR a single-reference nickname for now.
Super clone availability
Grand Watch Club currently lists 2 Sprite super clones, priced from £434 to £904. The lower tier uses a Japanese movement and covers the essentials — correct left-handed case, 9 o’clock date and green-and-black ceramic bezel — while the Swiss SuperClone tier at the top of the range replicates the calibre 3285’s jumping local-hour hand for proper GMT operation. Both are built on the 40mm case dimensions of the genuine 126720VTNR.
