The Hulk is the Rolex Submariner Date reference 116610LV, produced from 2010 to 2020. It combines a green Cerachrom ceramic bezel with a green sunburst dial in the 40mm “Super Case”, runs the calibre 3135 and is rated to 300 metres — and it remains the only Submariner Rolex has made with both a green dial and a green bezel.
Why is it called the Hulk?
The nickname is a straightforward nod to Marvel’s Incredible Hulk: all green, and noticeably more muscular than the watch it replaced. The 116610LV’s Super Case carries broader lugs and wider crown guards than the outgoing 16610LV “Kermit”, so the comic-book strongman fitted on both counts — colour and build. Rolex unveiled the watch at Baselworld 2010, and where the Kermit had confined its green to the bezel, the Hulk doubled down with a matching sunburst dial.
Not everyone loved it at launch; the chunkier case and green-on-green look divided collectors for years before demand took off in the late 2010s. Rolex built the Hulk for exactly a decade — announced at Baselworld in 2010 and dropped from the catalogue when the 41mm Submariner generation arrived on 1 September 2020. Since discontinuation, secondary-market prices have held well above the watch’s final list price, and the Hulk is now one of the most requested discontinued sports Rolexes.

Super clone availability
Grand Watch Club lists 2 Hulk super clones, priced from £434 to £904. The entry-level build uses a reliable Japanese movement, while the Swiss SuperClone version at the top of the range runs a Swiss movement built to follow the calibre 3135’s architecture. Both reproduce the green sunburst dial, engraved ceramic bezel and Super Case proportions of the genuine 116610LV, so the choice comes down to movement feel and budget.
