In the world of fine horology, a luxury watch is more than an accessory β it is a reflection of taste, precision, and timeless craftsmanship.
Super Clone Watch Bezel Types Explained
The bezel is one of the most defining features of any super clone watch. Here’s a guide to every bezel type you’ll encounter.
Unidirectional Rotating (Dive Bezels)
Rotates: Counter-clockwise only
Purpose: Timing dive duration β aligned to the minute hand at the start of a dive. Only rotates one way so it can’t accidentally extend a dive time.
Found on: Rolex Submariner, Omega Seamaster, Tudor Black Bay
Material: Usually ceramic (Cerachrom) on premium super clones
Bidirectional Rotating (GMT/Pilot Bezels)
Rotates: Both directions
Purpose: Tracking additional time zones (GMT) or performing calculations (slide rule)
Found on: Rolex GMT-Master II, Breitling Navitimer, Blancpain Fifty Fathoms
Fixed Bezel
Rotates: Not at all
Purpose: Design only β can be plain, fluted, or set with diamonds
Found on: Rolex Datejust (fluted), Patek Nautilus, AP Royal Oak (octagonal with screws)
Tachymeter Bezel
Rotates: Usually fixed
Purpose: Measuring speed β used with the chronograph to calculate average speed over a known distance
Found on: Rolex Daytona, Omega Speedmaster
Compass Bezel
Rotates: Bidirectional
Purpose: Cardinal direction finding (in conjunction with the sun)
Found on: Bell & Ross BR 03-92, certain Sinn models
Yacht-Timer Bezel
Rotates: Counter-clockwise in set increments
Purpose: Counting down regatta start sequences
Found on: Rolex Yacht-Master II
